Pastor Randy was born in Charlotte, NC and grew up in Matthews. By God’s grace, he met a beautiful young woman when he was only 14 years old, and she eventually became his wife. At the age of 21, God revealed Randy’s need of a Savior, and pointed him to Jesus. After living a life in self-indulgence, pride, and true hopelessness, God began to shape his life for His glory. He and Shannon were engaged on January 1, 1999, and married May 20, 2000. Their personal lives have been blessed with 3 children, Abigail, Owen, and Judson.
Randy took his first church position as a youth pastor in December 2001 at Calvary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC. While there he became the Student/Associate pastor and served until April 2005. From here he assisted a friend in a church plant in Matthews, NC as the elder of teaching and administration. Feeling the need to go back to school at Southeaster Baptist Theological Seminary, Randy moved back to Rocky Mount, NC and pastored Southside Baptist Church. From here he pastored First Baptist Church in Pulaski, VA, before moving to Fort Myers, FL in September 2010.
Randy enjoys fishing, hunting, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He is also a huge sports fan! He loves the Carolina Panthers, UNC Tarheels, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Braves, and since moving to FL he, sometimes reluctantly, pulls for the FL Gators, Miami Heat, and the Miami Dolphins.
Randy also loves the verses found in Romans 8:38-39.
Pastor/Minister of Music
Sam grew up here in Fort Myers. After a troubling childhood and preteen stage of life, Sam finally came to know Jesus as Savior as a freshman in high school. Following his conversion and turning his life over to Christ he began to pursue full-time ministry and church service. Recognizing the gifts God gave him for music and media, worship ministry became his focus. Sam has served and sung in choirs all his life, has had opportunities to sing in some unique places such as Disney World in Orlando, FL and has participated in many church choral and music concerts. He has also been blessed to serve in several churches as well in various support staff roles. He has worked in church media and tech departments as well as music. Sam has been with Redeemer since December of 2013.
He studied Worship Leadership at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama for a year in college and transferred to Luther Rice University and Seminary where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a focus in Apologetics and Worldview. As a worship leader music plays an important role in the life of his ministry, but that music must always sit on a foundation built on the gospel.
Sam is blessed and privileged to be married to his high school sweetheart, Bethany. They have been married since July 2011 and are looking forward to many more years of life together. They have 1 son, Ezra, who was born January 22, 2015 and are expecting another son, Eli, due in May 2017. Sam's hobbies are both outdoors and indoors. He enjoys watching movies and tv, reading books, cooking, grilling, hunting, playing sports, etc. Anytime he can hang out with friends and family it's a good day.
Sam's favorite passage of scripture is Philippians 3:12-16.
